Dear Members, A disastrous earthquake has struck Sichuan mercilessly, thousands of lives have been swallowed up and homes destroyed. The deceased cannot be found and the survivors have been left without homes. Being so far away in a safe and comfortable environment we can only make the most basic assistance by donations to help our compatriots. We appeal to all members to extend a helping hand; every penny can help to relieve the earthquake disaster and help our fellow citizens to rebuild their homes. Let us work together to help our unfortunate compatriots. Donation methods:

Centre sincerely thank all our members for their kind donations and support, in a short span of 2 weeks, we have raised £13,000 for the Sichuan Earthquake Appeal. This has been delivered personally by our Chairperson Mrs Wai Fong Lee, to the London Chinese Embassy, it will help the victims of the Sichuan disaster to rebuild their homeland. During this period of time, whenever we turn the media on, we do not want to see another story of tears, what we want to see is a hope; hope that there are more survivors to be found. This hope became increasingly elusive every minute, the clock’s second hand seems like an executer. But it did not hinder our members’ support, donations kept flooding in everyday. Natural disasters bring too many unfortunate consequences, but the cohesion it brings is undoubtly very moving. Our Sichuan compatriots now has to face the re-building of their homes, lives and future, they still have a long way to go. Apart form helping them to rebuild, we are also giving them unlimited warmth and encouragement, so that the pain of losing close family members can be eased, and has the courage to face a complete new life.
